The best time to trek Huayhuash and the Cordillera Blanca is May to September, during the dry Andean winter.

• Muddy trails

Unsafe for multi-day treks

Multi-day treks are not recommended during this period. Only certain day hikes remain possible.

Day hikes like Laguna 69, Churup, Parón, and Llaca are still possible, especially from April to December.

• Strict dry-season trek (May–September only)

Cordillera Blanca

• Closer to Huaraz
• Day hikes possible almost year-round
• Multi-day treks (Santa Cruz, Cedros–Alpamayo)
  → May–September only
