Day 1 – Huaraz → Cebollapampa → Base Camp (4,650 m)

Drive north through the Callejón de Huaylas to the Cebollapampa Valley (3,900 m).
Begin a 2-3 hour trek to Pisco Base Camp, with donkeys carrying the group equipment. Optional glacier briefing in the afternoon.

Day 2 – Base Camp → Moraine Camp (4,900 m)

Ascend a steep but short trail across rocky moraines to Moraine Camp. Porters assist with gear; enjoy incredible sunset views of Huandoy and Chacraraju.

Day 3 – Summit Nevado Pisco (5,753 m) → Return to Base Camp

Start early (~2:00 AM). A short hike leads to the glacier; rope up for the steady ascent (5–6 h) to the summit of Pisco (5,753 m).
From the top, enjoy a 360° panorama of Huascarán, Huandoy, Chacraraju, Artesonraju and the surrounding range.
Descend to Base Camp via Moraine Camp for a well-deserved celebration.

Day 4 – Base Camp → Cebollapampa → Huaraz

Descend 2 hours to the trailhead where private transport awaits for the return to Huaraz.

  • How difficult is Nevado Pisco?
    Moderate – no technical skills required but solid fitness and good acclimatization are essential.
