Day 1 – Huaraz → Llanganuco Lakes → Cebollapampa → Pisco Base Camp

We pick you up from your hotel in Huaraz and drive north through the Callejón de Huaylas, entering the Huascarán National Park.
Enjoy breathtaking views of the Llanganuco Valley and its turquoise lakes before reaching Cebollapampa (3,900 m).

From here, begin your steady ascent (3–4 hours) toward Pisco Base Camp (4,670 m), where the Italian-built Refugio Perú Mountain Hut awaits.
Overnight at Refugio Perú (Pisco Base Camp).

Day 2 – Pisco Base Camp → Laguna 69 → Cebollapampa → Huaraz

Max Altitude: 5,000 m / 16,404 ft | Distance: 8 km / 5 mi | Hiking Time: 6–7 hours

After breakfast, begin a scenic traverse along rocky mountain trails toward the Laguna 69 viewpoint (4,600–5,000 m).
Marvel at the vivid turquoise lake beneath the Chacraraju Glacier, one of the most photogenic spots in the Andes.

Descend through the Valle de la Demanda to Cebollapampa, where your private vehicle will be waiting for the return drive to Huaraz.
Arrival in Huaraz by late afternoon.

    Moderate to strenuous — the route reaches altitudes near 5,000 m. Good physical condition and proper acclimatization are required.
  • Is acclimatization necessary?
    Yes — we recommend at least 3–4 days in Huaraz with one or two acclimatization hikes (such as Wilcacocha or Churup) before departure.
  • Where do we sleep?
    At the Refugio Perú Mountain Hut, a comfortable high-altitude mountain lodge managed by local and Italian mountaineering groups.
