Our Journey

A Timeline of Passion, Growth & Andean Legacy

2006 — The First Steps

Edita begins guiding day hikes in the Cordillera Blanca.
Her English skills allow her to guide international travelers — rare at the time — and she discovers her true passion for trekking and sharing the Andes with the world.

2011 — A Dream Takes Shape

After years of guiding and working in tourism, Edita decides to build something of her own.
With nothing but her laptop and determination, she starts creating the first Inkaland Treks website.

2012 — Inkaland Treks is Born

Inkaland Treks officially launches.
Edita graduates as a Certified Trekking Guide (CEAM) and welcomes the company’s first travelers: a father and son from the USA, followed by the first large student group from the United States.

That same year, her niece Deysi joins the company, becoming an essential part of the early administrative and operations work. Her dedication, professionalism, and warmth help shape the foundation of Inkaland Treks and support its first years of growth.

2014 — Family Joins the Mission

Edita’s brother Mario moves to Huaraz and becomes essential in equipment logistics and group support.
His kindness and professionalism quickly make him a favorite among travelers.

2016 — Expanding the Team

Her brother Urbano joins as the company driver and assistant guide, supporting day hikes and logistics with patience, friendliness, and dedication.

2017–2019 — Growth & Professional Recognition

Inkaland Treks continues growing with returning travelers and stronger operations.
In 2019, Edita becomes a member of AGOCP, recognized by UIMLA, reinforcing international guiding standards.

2020 — A Difficult Chapter

The pandemic forces the temporary closure of Inkaland’s lodge project.
Despite the challenges, the company remains strong, focused, and committed to rebuilding.

2021 — New International Partnerships

Inkaland Treks begins operating again, securing partnerships with international agencies in Brazil.

2024 — Expansion to Colombia

New partnerships form with agencies in Colombia, bringing more travelers seeking authentic Andean adventures.

2025 — Partnerships in Europe

Inkaland Treks expands its network and begins collaborations with agencies in Europe, strengthening its presence in the global trekking community.

Today — A Family-Run Andean Operator

With a certified guiding team, trusted cooks and muleteers, premium expedition equipment, and a strong family foundation, Inkaland Treks is recognized as one of the most reliable operators in Huaraz.

The dream continues with the same heart:
to share the Andes with warmth, professionalism, and genuine human connection.
