Our NEW PROGRAM combines the  hike to the LAKE 69, one of the most beautiful aqua colored lakes in he Northern Cordilera Blanca  with the traditional SANTA CRUZ TREK, Both of them Considered by most hikers  as one of the most popular & impressive scenic hikes in the entire Cordillera Blanca. Lake 69 hike It is truly a very unique and special place. On clear days you can look straight through its deep blue color waters, there is an incredible waterfall dropping right into the far end of the lake that makes amazing scenery to enjoy. And the Santa Cruz Trek takes you through fertile alpine valleys, has views of magnificent, spiraling high glaciated peaks, flower-filled meadows and glacier-fed turquoise lakes. This world-renown circuit crosses from one side of the Cordillera Blanca range to the other through ascending the Punta Union Pass reaching an elevation of 15,584 ft / 4750 m, and then descends into the rich lush Paria Valley.  As we hike through the Paria valley headed to Vaqueria, the end of the trek, you’ll pass through the small mountain village of Huaripampa where you’ll have the opportunity to meet the exceedingly warm, kind and gentle Quechua mountain people.
This combination trek can be accomplished in either a 5 day and 4  night trek or, if you choose, can be modified to be 4 days and 3 nights. For the second option we recommend you to be fit enought to complte Santa Cruz in 3 three days program.
Lake 69 may work as a acclimatization hike, then it will be for the first day or if you are already well acclimatized and just completed some trek previous in the South part of Peru, lake 69 will be completed on the last day of trek program. It will be flexible and it can be manged  according your request and aviavility.

Day 1: TREK STARTS – Huaraz / Cashapampa / Llamacorral – (Camp 1)
Day 2: Llamacorral / Taullipampa (Camp 2)

Day 4: Paria / Vaqueria / Yuraccorral  – (Camp4)
Day 5: Yuraccorral / Laguna 69 – Return to Huaraz / Hotel

Day by day Itinerary

Day 1: Huaraz – Cashapampa – Llamacorral

After the breakfast in your hotel, we will board our private bus and travel along the Callejón de Huaylas (cah yea hon day why less) headed north from Huaraz to the village of Cashapampa (3 hours) the starting point of our Santa Cruz trek. Here we will meet our donkeys and donkey drivers to transport our hiking equipment then we will start our trek. After hiking approximately 5 or 6 hours we will camp overnight at Llamacorral (Yah mah core ral) at 12,467 ft / 3800 m.
Meals included: Breakfast, Snack, Lunch, Tea time and Dinner

Day 2: Llamacorral – Taullipampa

After breakfast we start our hike passing along the beautiful mountain lakes (cocha) of Ichiccocha (small lake) and Jatuncocha (big lake) and continue hiking up the Santa Cruz valley until we reach the switch back trail ascending up to Alpamayo Base Camp for approximately 45 minutes until we reach Alpamayo base camp. Here we’ll relax and enjoy the splendid summit views of the majestic mountains of Alpamayo, Quitaraju, Artesonraju, Paron and Aguja. After enjoying these awesome views, we will then trek downhill for about 1½ hours to arrive at our second overnight camp named Taullipampa (Tau yee pampa -pampa means grassland) at an elevation of 13,944 ft / 4250 m under the beautiful peak of Taullirahu (rahu means ice/snow) at 19,127 ft / 5830 m.
Meals: Breakfast, Snack, Lunch, Tea time and dinner.

Day 3: Taullipampa – Paria Valley

After leaving our Taullipampa camp we’ll start our gradual ascent for about 2½ -3 hours until we reach the Punta Union pass at 15,584 ft/4750m where we’ll enjoy the panoramic views of the mountains landscape, turquoise lakes, and a view of the whole Santa Cruz Valley and experience the Andean fresh air at this very high altitude. From our panoramic vantage point we will now cross over from the Santa Cruz valley and descend into the rich lush Paria valley for 4 hours until we arrive at our last overnight camp named Paria at 12,467 ft/3800m.
Meals: Breakfast, Snack, Lunch, Tea time and Dinner.

Day 4: Paria / Vaqueria / Yuraccorral

After breakfast at the Paria camp we walk down at a relaxed pace for approximately 2½ hours as we pass directly through the village of Huaripampa (War ee pahm pa) where we will have the opportunity to meet the warm and friendly Quecha residents and have the opportunity to mingle with the village people and take memorable photos. We continue on our last segment of the trek ascending up the side of a ridge until we reach the village of Vaqueria where our private bus will be waiting to transport us to the Portachuelo pass 4750 m. We’ll stop here to take photos of the impressive panoramic view of the Cordillera Blanca range laid out before us. After enjoying this incredible view, we will next descend down the amazing 32 switch-back mountain pass road into the Llanganuco Valley. We will continue to our camp at Yuraccorral  (12,631 ft/3900 m).

Day 5: Yuraccorral / Hike to Lake 69 – Return to Huaraz

This day we viist the well knowen Lake 69. At the beginning it is an pleasant hike on the almost flat area for about 1 hour, passing through quenual tress enjoying view surrounded on the back ground we have the view of Huascaran mountain, the highest peak in the Cordillera Blanca, Chopicalqui, Yanapaccha.Then ascend on the well market sig sag path to the first small lake, as we gain hight a dramatic glaciated peak of Chacraraju,Yanapaccha, Huascaran,Chopicalqui  and water falls in the valley comes into view. Continue ascending on the last sig sag path to  the lake 69, some people find hard demandind the last section just before o reach the lake, you may feel the effects of the altitude and get tired just a last effort to get the lake. It is really worded to reach the lake you will be impressed by the beauty of the lake and a close up view of the Pisco and Chacraraju mountains.
Relax take pictures, enjoying the landscape sourrouded then descend on the same way to Yuraccorral, where our cook and rest of the crew  is waiting for you with a delicious lunch celebration – Finally pack and return to Huaraz with our private transporttaion. Timing about 6  hours hike & 3 Hours  return drive to your hotel.
