Peru Guided Trekking, Hiking Adventure Holidays

As highlighted within our name Inkaland Treks, we are experts on trekking and have one of the most extensive options for world-class trekking and day hiking adventure experiences through the fabulous Peruvian Andes.  From our experience, we’ve developed a range of trekking programs that includes classics such as the Cordillera Blanca’s Santa Cruz Trek, the remote Huayhuash Circuit in the Cordillera Huayhuash mountain range and the world’s classic trek on the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. We have a growing number of softer walking trips with a greater emphasis on the culture, nature food and Andean highland sights.

Trekking       trekking
The term trekking is traditionally applied to overland journeys made on foot, usually involving the support of a trek crew to carry personal belongings, along with any tents, food and cooking equipment that is required. This is the very form of travel used by pioneer explorers and mountaineers in the world’s greater ranges including the Peruvian Andes. Over time this notion of trekking has evolved and now encompasses everything from extended camping trips into true wilderness areas, to shorter trips, staying in mountain lodges, guesthouses and hotels and involving a series of day-hikes. Whichever form of trekking you decide to undertake, you can be sure you’ll enjoy breaking out of your day-to-day routine and hiking through amazing “national geographic” landscapes in the Andes with the opportunity to experience different cultures. It is important that you read our trip descriptions carefully before booking your trip. Depending on the grade of the trip, the average day’s hike can vary between 5 and 8 hours.

When to Travel to Peru
All of our trekking activities are planned for the time of year best suited to the activities involved and between May to September when the most favorable and stable weather conditions can be expected. This is why these months are the High Season for trekking in Peru.
