Trekking the Cordillera Huayhuash - 8 Day Mini Trek

Campsite at Carhuacocha Lake 4150m

Inkaland Treks’ developed this breath-taking mini trek program into the heart of the remote Cordillera Huayhuash mountain range. To be completed on 8 day / 7 nights with two additional extra days of rest at the most beautiful campsites during trek. It offers a new opportunity for those who don’t have the time to do the longer, classic traditional routes. This trekking route leads you to the most beautiful parts of the Cordillera Huayhuash with campsites on the shores of beautiful colored trout filled lakes with astonishing views of glacier peaks and passing traditional isolated Quechua farms and settlements.

The trek program  features a visit to the substantial Inca ruins at Huanuco Viejo situated on a grand plateau enables you to visit this Inca city, one of the mayor settlements of the Incas culture  outside of Cusco on the main Inca Road that leads from Ecuador to Bolivia.

We recommend to our clients to be in good physical condition because trekking around the Cordillera Huayhuash mountain range requires decent physical fitness and proper acclimatization to altitude. This program is truly a “national geographic” trekking experience.
